Description

Get ready for an unforgettable excursion starting at Porta Napoli in Lecce, as we embark on a journey to explore the captivating towns of Gallipoli, Otranto, Leuca, and Galatina. We'll follow the scenic Adriatic and Ionian coastlines, unveiling breathtaking cliffs, hidden bays, and crystal-clear beaches along the way.

Our first stop is the picturesque village of Otranto, a historical gem that exudes the influences of various civilizations like the Romans, Ottomans, and Aragonese. Take your free time to wander through its enchanting streets, visit the Cathedral, admire the Byzantine church of San Pietro, explore the castle, and marvel at the Pelasgi Bastions and ancient city walls.

Continuing our coastal journey, we'll reach Santa Maria di Leuca, where the Ionian and Adriatic Seas merge. Enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the harbor and the Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Finibus Terrae. Along the way, catch glimpses of other scenic spots like Santa Cesarea Terme, Castro Marina, and the mesmerizing Ciolo Fjord.

Next, we'll arrive at the Pearl of the Ionian, Gallipoli, a captivating city divided into the modern Borgo and the historic old town. The old town, situated on a limestone island connected by a bridge, boasts a fascinating blend of ancient Greek heritage and a charming Mediterranean atmosphere.

Our final stop takes us to Galatina, the third-largest town in the province of Lecce. Marvel at the splendid Basilica of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria adorned with vibrant frescoes, and be sure to visit the renowned church of Santi Pietro e Paolo.

After an incredible eight-hour journey, filled with awe-inspiring sights and cultural discoveries, we'll bid farewell back at the meeting point in Lecce.
